Darcy Kuemper stopped 16 shots, achieving a shutout for the Los Angeles Kings in their 3-0 win against the Nashville Predators on Monday, marking his 32nd career shutout and the team's first of the season.
Adrian Kempe had a goal and an assist, with Anze Kopitar and Kevin Fiala also finding the net. This victory gave the Kings two wins in their last three matches.
Nashville's Juuse Saros encountered 24 shots, and the team continued to struggle offensively, losing nine of their first 12 games this season.
Kopitar opened the scoring late in the first period, and Fiala increased the lead early in the third. The Kings dominated the last period by restricting Nashville to just three shots, securing their triumph.
Compared to their previous match against Chicago, the Kings showed marked improvement by outplaying Nashville in the third period and recording 12-3 in shot count. The Predators, meanwhile, ranked 26th in the NHL this season for goals per game, continue to face offensive difficulties.
An important save came early in the second period when Kuemper stopped a shot from Colton Sissons, maintaining their one-goal lead. Kuemper's record against Nashville is impressive, now standing at 7-2-3 with three shutouts.
Looking ahead, the Kings are set to play Minnesota on Tuesday, and the Predators will visit Washington on Wednesday.
