The Los Angeles Kings managed to break their three-game losing streak with a 4-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens, thanks to a strong showing from David Rittich.
Rittich, who had been previously sidelined, made an impressive 26 saves. The Kings' goals came from Laferriere, Anderson, Englund, and Kempe, bringing their road trip record to 2-1-2 for the season's start.
For the Canadiens, Barron scored while Montembeault made 28 saves, including an important penalty shot stop against Fiala.
Due to Mike Matheson's injury, the Canadiens played with only five defensemen for 40 minutes, which led to significant ice time for Lane Hutson.
Laferriereās second-period goal was pivotal, marking the Kingsā seventh consecutive victory over Montreal, including four straight wins on Montreal's home ice.
Looking ahead, the Kings are set to face Anaheim on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Canadiens will head to New York to play against the Islanders on Saturday.
