In Newark, Jake Allen achieved his inaugural shutout, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 3-0 triumph over the Utah Hockey Club. The tie was broken early in the second period by Seamus Casey’s goal, with Stefan Noesen and Nico Hischier also scoring for the Devils.

This victory improved the Devils' record to 4-1, while Utah's unbeaten run ended after four games. Although Utah began strong, Casey's power-play goal was a turning point, and Allen successfully blocked 20 shots to secure the shutout.

For Utah, Karel Vejmelka took the net for his first start of the season, facing 30 shots. Noteworthy points were Allen achieving his first shutout with the team and Utah missing out on all four of their power-play chances.

Looking ahead, the Devils are set to visit the Carolina Hurricanes next, whereas Utah will wrap up their road trip against the Anaheim Ducks.
