Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

John Gibson made 38 saves, helping the Anaheim Ducks halt their four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Brett Leason and Jackson LaCombe scored their first goals of the season for Anaheim, which started off strong. Although Yegor Chinakhov equalized for Columbus in the opening period, LaCombe gave Anaheim the lead again in the second.

Leo Carlsson increased the Ducks' advantage, but Kirill Marchenko narrowed the gap for Columbus late in the game. Isac Lundestrom ensured the victory with an empty-net goal.

In his first game of the season following an appendectomy, Gibson stood out and showed no signs of inactivity. Jack Johnson celebrated his 1,200th NHL game for Columbus, while Zach Werenski marked his 500th game with the team.

During their losing streak, Anaheim had been allowing an average of four goals per game, but they improved with a strong defensive showing.

Looking ahead, Columbus will travel to Seattle on Tuesday, and Anaheim will play host to the Golden Knights on Wednesday.
