The Utah Hockey Club, previously known as the Arizona Coyotes, has extended forward Dylan Guenther's contract for eight years, totaling $57.14 million.
Guenther, who is 21 years old, plays a significant role for the Salt Lake City-based team. Last season, he divided his time between the NHL and AHL, achieving 35 points in 45 NHL games.
General Manager Bill Armstrong of Utah highlighted both Guenther's abilities and his character, noting that Dylan excels both on and off the ice. He is anticipated to be a foundational player for the organization moving forward.
Drafted ninth overall in 2021, Guenther has accumulated 50 points in 78 NHL career games. Expressing his joy about the long-term commitment, he mentioned that this is a very happy day for him and his family. With this extension, he becomes the team's longest-signed player, overtaking defenseman Mikhail Sergachev, whose contract lasts until 2031.
