Edmonton Oilers Face Steep Challenge After Panthers' Game 3 Victory: Skinner Remains Hopeful Amid Slow Starts and Struggling Power Play

Edmonton Oilers News & Updates

Stuart Skinner is still optimistic about the Oilers' chances for the Stanley Cup, even though they are facing a tough 3-0 series deficit.

Historically, teams that are down 3-0 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final rarely come back, with only one such series being overturned in the past.

The Panthers have taken control of the series, outscoring the Oilers 4-1 in the third period on Thursday night, which included a significant 6:19 stretch in the second period where they netted three goals.

The Oilers' offensive performance has been lacking, with key players McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Hyman, and Bouchard unable to find the net. Their power play has also struggled against Florida's strong penalty kill.

Despite these challenges, the Oilers remain resolute, relying on their previous winning streaks and confidence in their skills.

Draisaitl admits he hasn't been productive and stresses the need for improvement. Both he and the team are aware that their errors have been exploited by Florida.

The Oilers' resolve is unshaken as they focus on winning Game 4 to keep their Stanley Cup dreams alive.
