In Edmonton, both Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played crucial roles with a goal and two assists each, while Connor McDavid boosted the team with three assists. This collective effort led the Edmonton Oilers to a decisive 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks, pushing the series to a game 7 showdown.
Contributions also came from Dylan Holloway, Zach Hyman, and Evander Kane, who each found the back of the net, while Stuart Skinner defended the goal with 14 saves.
On the Vancouver side, Nils Hoglander managed to score as the team pursues a spot in the Western Conference final, a feat not achieved since 2011. The Canucks' goalie, Arturs Silovs, made 22 saves during the game.
The critical Game 7 is scheduled to occur in Vancouver on Monday night, with the winner advancing to face Dallas in the Western Conference final.
The game's scoring was initiated by Edmonton early in the first period thanks to Holloway's goal, but Vancouver quickly equalized with Hoglander’s contribution. A potential goal from Bouchard was annulled at the terminal phase of the first period due to McDavid accidentally making contact with Silovs.
Into the second period, Edmonton reclaimed the lead with contributions from Hyman and Bouchard, both facilitated by McDavid. The third period saw Nugent-Hopkins widen the gap, with Kane later sealing the win with an additional goal.
Leon Draisaitl continued his impressive playoff performance by recording an assist, marking the 11th playoff game in which he has scored at least a point. This achievement places Draisaitl among the elite in NHL history, being the fourth player to reach 60 assists in 60 playoff appearances and one of only three to accumulate 100 points over the same number of games.
