The Edmonton Oilers have achieved an incredible milestone, rising from the bottom to the top of the Western Conference, and now have the opportunity to compete for the Stanley Cup.
With Connor McDavid and Stuart Skinner at the forefront, the Oilers secured a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 6, clinching the Western Conference final.
Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard were also key contributors to Edmonton's success, driving a series of wins after overcoming a significant playoff challenge.
The Oilers are set to face off against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, which kicks off on Saturday night.
Though the Panthers enter the series as the favorites, the Oilers aim to emulate St. Louis, the last team to win the Cup after coming back from a substantial playoff deficit.
Limited to just 10 shots on goal, the Oilers depended on McDavid's early score and Skinner's defensive prowess.
Despite their best efforts, the Stars could not maintain their lead in the conference finals and ultimately were defeated.
