Dallas Stars News & Updates

Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights lived up to expectations, overcoming an initial push from the Dallas Stars during the second game of the opening series round. A 3-1 win on Wednesday evening put the Knights ahead with a series lead of 2-0 in the best-of-seven contest.

Eichel played a crucial role, setting up Jonathan Marchessault for the equalizing goal in the opening period before sealing the deal with a goal into an empty net towards the end. Noah Hanifin broke the tie with a solo goal towards the end of the second period.

The Stars opened the game with vigor, highlighted by a forceful hit from Mason Marchment on Zach Whitecloud and a notable altercation involving Mark Stone and Jason Robertson. Nevertheless, their initial surge didn’t translate into sustained advantage.

The moment for Hanifin's leading goal was set up after Esa Lindell impressively blocked two consecutive shots. Robertson managed to score for Dallas through a power-play opportunity, which was then countered by a goal from Marchessault, thanks to Eichel’s assistance.

The second period witnessed an impressive display from Jake Oettinger of the Stars, who managed to stop three direct shots by Shea Theodore in quick succession. Despite these efforts, the Knights managed to clinch the win.
