Dallas Stars News & Updates

Paul Maurice, the coach of the Florida Panthers, asked for a forceful show from his players and got just that with a riveting comeback marked by three goals, which included a duo of power-play goals from Aleksander Barkov.

In a thrilling moment, Barkov scored the decisive goal while the team was a man down, with only 5:22 left in the final period. Matthew Tkachuk played a pivotal role in this goal, his deflection off a player from the Stars securing his second assist of the evening.

A robust performance in the third period was key to the Panthers' victory, during which they netted three consecutive goals. Both Carter Verhaeghe and Brandon Montour were instrumental, each notching two assists.

Despite early successes from Jason Robertson, Wyatt Johnston, and Joe Pavelski putting the Dallas Stars in the lead, they couldn't clinch the win. Jake Oettinger for the Stars managed 26 saves, while Sergei Bobrovsky of the Panthers saved 27 shots.

With this victory, the Panthers extend their winning record to 18 in the last 21 games, breaking the Stars' five-game winning streak. The next set of games presents significant challenges for both teams: the Panthers are set to face Carolina, a team to which they recently lost, and the Stars will welcome New Jersey, hoping to replicate a prior 6-2 victory against them.
