Sam Reinhart, Anton Lundell, and Spencer Knight propelled the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who were commemorating Johnny Gaudreau during their home opener.
The Panthers also saw goals from Dmitry Kulikov and Eetu Luostarinen, while the Blue Jackets had Cole Sillinger, Sean Monahan, and James van Riemsdyk finding the back of the net.
Knight made 35 saves to secure his first victory since January 23, 2023, despite the Blue Jackets having more shots on goal with a tally of 38 to Florida's 22.
A pivotal moment occurred in the second period when the Panthers scored twice in quick succession, just 1:37 after Monahan's goal briefly put the Blue Jackets ahead.
Reinhart, having accumulated eight points in his first five games with the Panthers, was instrumental in their success.
Florida is set to host Vancouver on Thursday, while the Blue Jackets are heading to Buffalo for their next match.
