Florida Panthers News & Updates

Anton Lundell, a restricted free agent, has agreed to a six-year, $30 million deal with the Florida Panthers. This move ensures the Stanley Cup champions retain all of their top eight scorers from the previous season.

In the 2022-23 regular season, Lundell notched 13 goals and 22 assists over 78 games. His playoff performance was remarkable as well, contributing 17 points in 24 games, including an assist on Carter Verhaeghe's game-winning goal in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Bill Zito, the Panthers' GM, commended Lundell's development and dedication, noting that his "cerebral approach to the game earned him the respect of his teammates and coaches."

At 22 years old, the Finnish center was selected by the Panthers in 2020 as the 12th overall pick. Throughout 216 games, he has accumulated 43 goals and 69 assists. His new contract comes with a cap hit of $5 million.

With Lundell now signed, the Panthers have solidified their core for the future, ensuring key players such as captain Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, and Gustav Forsling remain under contract at least through the 2029-30 season.
