Boston Bruins News & Updates

Jim Montgomery, the coach of the Boston Bruins, admitted that the team's current 2-1 series setback following their 6-2 defeat to the Florida Panthers in the third game was partly his fault. He pointed to the Bruins' lackluster performance, attributing the early struggles in Game 3 to his own shortcomings.

It was not until the final period that the Bruins began to show signs of life, with Jakub Lauko managing to find the net. Montgomery felt that the team came together in part because they were without their captain, Brad Marchand, who is dealing with an upper-body injury. In response, players like David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, and Pat Maroon stepped up their game in terms of communication on the ice, according to Brandon Carlo.

The Panthers capitalized on the Bruins' disciplinary issues, netting three goals while they had the man advantage. Jake DeBrusk spoke up, stressing that the responsibility falls on the entire roster to enhance their play. Nevertheless, Montgomery is taking the lion's share of the blame onto himself.

The upcoming Game 4, which is scheduled to take place in Boston on Sunday evening, presents an opportunity for Montgomery to reassess and adjust the team's strategy with hopes of leveling the series.
