Boston Bruins News & Updates

In a thrilling Friday night showdown, Gustav Forsling scored a crucial goal with only 93 seconds left on the clock, propelling the Florida Panthers to a narrow 2-1 win against the Boston Bruins, clinching the series in six games.

The Panthers' goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, blocked 22 shots during the game, helping his team advance to the Eastern Conference finals where they'll meet the New York Rangers. The opening game of the series is scheduled for Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

The Panthers saw another goal from Anton Lundell, whose initial shot was deflected, setting up Forsling to score what turned out to be the decisive goal of the night. Jeremy Swayman of the Bruins was the unfortunate goalie who let that winning goal slip by.

Despite Pavel Zacha putting the Bruins ahead with a goal towards the end of the first period, Boston struggled to put any more past Bobrovsky.

Brad Marchand made a return to the Boston lineup after missing two games due to injury, yet he couldn't add to the scoreboard. The Bruins faced an additional challenge as they were called out for having too many players on the ice for the seventh time in the postseason, marking a new record.

The game was tied by the Panthers seven minutes before the second period concluded, thanks to Lundell's goal during a chaotic moment in front of the Bruins' net.
