Boston Bruins News & Updates

Samuel Ersson stopped 23 shots as Tyson Foerster opened the scoring in the second period, helping the Philadelphia Flyers achieve a 2-0 win against the Boston Bruins.

Joel Farabee contributed an empty-net goal to secure the victory, marking the Flyers' first win in Boston since 2021. Ersson posted his sixth career shutout, overcoming a close call in the third period when the puck almost crossed the line behind him.

Following a difficult start to the season, the Flyers delivered their best defensive performance, neutralizing Boston's power play and limiting them to just three shots in the final period.

Although the Bruins had more shots on goal, they found it challenging to score, with Joonas Korpisalo making 17 saves. A crucial point in the match occurred when, after Philadelphia's Jamie Drysdale was injured, Ersson made three critical saves before Foerster's goal.

The Flyers excelled in faceoffs, winning 30 of 51 draws. Boston's next match will be against the Carolina Hurricanes, while the Flyers will play at home against the St. Louis Blues.
