Samuel Girard scored an overtime goal allowing the Colorado Avalanche to defeat the Nashville Predators 3-2 in Denver.
Girard seized the puck and broke away to score his first goal of the season at 2:47 into overtime, clinching the victory for Colorado.
Devon Toews and Mikko Rantanen also scored for the Avalanche, while Juuse Saros recorded 29 saves despite the loss.
Both goalkeepers were impressive, with Alexandar Georgiev also making 29 saves for Colorado.
Luke Evangelista and Colton Sissons found the net for the Predators, who are currently on a five-game road trip.
Sissons' only two goals this season have been against Colorado.
Nathan MacKinnon emerged unscathed following a collision with Filip Forsberg.
During the match, Michael McCarron's visor hit the boards following a hit by Rantanen, leading to a review and Rantanen receiving a boarding penalty. However, Nashville did not capitalize on the power play.
MacKinnon has extended his point streak to 15 games, whereas Cale Makar was held without a point for just the second time this season.
The Avalanche will play against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, and the Predators will continue their road trip facing the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
