Golden Knights Clinch Playoff Spot Following 3-1 Win Against Blackhawks

Brayden McNabb, Michael Amadio, and Nicolas Roy each found the back of the net, leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a victory over the Chicago Blackhawks with a score of 3-1. This win propelled the Knights into the third spot within the Pacific Division.

Vegas' goaltender Logan Thompson blocked 23 shots, whereas his counterpart, Petr Mrazek of the Blackhawks, made 34 saves. Despite assisting on Jason Dickinson's goal, Connor Bedard has managed to score only once over the recent 13 games.

The Golden Knights have managed to stake out a one-point lead over Los Angeles. A victory over Anaheim in their upcoming match will see them face Edmonton in the playoff's initial round.

Luke Richardson, steering the Blackhawks, expressed his disappointment over the season's outcomes, hinting at a possible fatigue affecting Bedard's performance.

McNabb struck with a turnaround rebound, Amadio stole the puck from Frank Nazar leading to a successful breakaway, and Roy completed the game's scoring with an empty-net goal, confirming the win for Vegas.

A moment that nearly saw Vegas scoring again involved Pavel Dorofeyev, but despite initial belief, it was confirmed through a replay that the puck didn’t cross the goal line, having struck the crossbar.

Katie Grimes, who is set for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, initiated the third period's start by sounding the horn, celebrating her qualification as a U.S. Olympic swimmer.

While the Blackhawks are looking to wrap their season with a game against Los Angeles on Thursday, the Golden Knights will be concluding their regular season by hosting Anaheim that same day.
