Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

Jordan Martinook maintained his impressive form by scoring in his fourth game in a row as the Carolina Hurricanes claimed a 5-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Las Vegas.

The Hurricanes' attack was bolstered by goals from Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Eric Robinson, Jordan Staal, and Tyson Jost. Jaccob Slavin and Martin Necas provided assists, with Necas extending his point streak to ten games.

Carolina's goalie, Pyotr Kochetkov, managed to stop 31 shots, while Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev found the net for the Golden Knights.

The Hurricanes surged ahead early, prompting a change in the Golden Knights' net-minding as Adin Hill was pulled after conceding four goals from 21 shots. Carolina broke a team record by starting 8-0 at home before experiencing their first home defeat.

Building on their swift start and a dominating 16-4 shot advantage in the initial period, Carolina showed no sign of a hangover from their last game. With the Golden Knights struggling defensively, the Hurricanes maintained a significant edge with a 21-8 lead in high-risk shooting opportunities.

A pivotal moment occurred when Jordan Staal scored during a power play for Vegas, effectively quashing the Golden Knights' comeback attempt.

Eric Robinson reached the milestone of 100 career points. Looking ahead, the Hurricanes are set to face Utah, while the Golden Knights will travel to Anaheim for a game on Wednesday.
