New Jersey Devils News & Updates

Brandon Hagel achieved a personal milestone by scoring a hat trick, Victor Hedman found the net twice, and the Tampa Bay Lightning triumphed over the New Jersey Devils with a score of 8-5 on Tuesday night.

The Lightning saw additional goals from Brayden Point, Jake Guentzel, Janis Moser, and Anthony Cirelli, breaking their two-game losing streak. Jonas Johansson contributed significantly by making 28 saves.

The Devils had contributions from Timo Meier, who scored twice, and from Jack Hughes, Nathan Bastian, and Stefan Noessen. However, they have now been defeated in three of their last four matches.

Though New Jersey initially led, Tampa Bay responded powerfully in the second period by scoring five goals in a row, with Hagel completing his hat trick in little over six minutes.

A pivotal moment came in the third period with Moser's short-handed goal, taking the Lightning's lead to 8-4.

Even though their key forward, Nikita Kucherov, was absent, Tampa Bay exerted control over New Jersey, registering 37 shots on goal and making 18 blocked shots.

The Lightning's next game will be against Minnesota at home on Thursday, while the Devils are set to face Detroit on their next road trip.
