Dallas Stars News & Updates

In a stellar performance, Miro Heiskanen made his mark by netting one goal and delivering two assists, with Jason Robertson chipping in a goal and an assist, leading to the Dallas Stars' victory over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. This win secured the Central Division title for the Stars, marking their first triumph in this category in eight years.

Pete DeBoer, the coach of the Stars, applauded the achievement yet underscored the ongoing nature of their quest. In a game where several attempts by Seattle ricocheted off the crossbar or post, Dallas' goalie Jake Oettinger succeeded in blocking 26 shots.

Throughout the game, the Stars maintained a lead in scoring. Smith found the net towards the end of the opening period, and Robertson amplified the team's advantage with a goal during a power play in the closing moments of the second period. Heiskanen's wraparound goal in the third period further solidified Dallas' victory.

This win over the Kraken extends the Stars’ winning streak to three in the season series against them, following a previous playoff victory over Seattle last year.

With a goal in the second period, Robertson raised his point total for the season to 80, leading his team. Although the Stars were awarded a penalty shot, they were unable to capitalize on it. Smith’s goal broke a period of scorelessness for the Stars on their home ice.

Looking ahead, the Kraken are set to play against the Blues in St. Louis on Sunday. The Stars, meanwhile, will round off their regular season with a home game against the Blues on Wednesday.
