Hellebuyck and Niederreiter Lead Winnipeg to 3-0 Victory Over Utah, Halting Connor's Record Streak

In his 900th NHL game, Nino Niederreiter scored twice, and Connor Hellebuyck made 21 saves, leading the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-0 victory against the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday.

Hellebuyck achieved his second season shutout and the 39th of his career. Gabriel Vilardi added another goal for the Jets, with Adam Lowry assisting Niederreiter's goals.

Utah's streak of earning points in three consecutive games (1-0-2) came to an end. Utah's goaltender, Karel Vejmelka, faced 25 shots during their second match of a four-game road trip.

The Jets' Kyle Connor saw his 12-game points streak at the start of the season come to a close.

Utah struggled to capitalize on their power plays, failing to record a shot on goal during their first opportunity and forcing Hellebuyck to make just one save during each of the next two opportunities.

For the Jets, earlier chances were missed as they focused on executing perfect plays until a shot from Josh Morrissey, with Vilardi positioned in front, scored to break the scoreless tie.

A crucial moment occurred when Niederreiter lifted a stick in the defensive zone, allowing the Jets to gain possession and rush towards the Utah net, resulting in his decisive goal.

The Jets successfully converted 1 of their 2 power-play opportunities, marking their sixth game in a row with a power-play goal, and they began the game with the league's highest power-play percentage at 44.1%.

Looking ahead, Utah is set to play against the Blues on Thursday, while the Jets will face the Avalanche at home the same day.
