The Miami-Dade Police Department has determined that Konstantin Koltsov's death appears to be a case of suicide. Koltsov, a retired Belarusian ice hockey player who was also known for dating Aryna Sabalenka, met his tragic end recently.

A report emerged of an individual leaping from a balcony at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort early on a Monday. Authorities found no indication of criminal activity and have assigned the case to the homicide unit for further examination.

At 42, Koltsov was celebrated for his time as a winger with the Belarus national squad and the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. His coaching career included roles with Russian team Salavat Yulaev Ufa and Belarus's national team. Following his passing, Salavat Yulaev Ufa lauded his role as a leader and his profound influence on the team and its members.

Aryna Sabalenka, currently the second-ranked female tennis player globally and Koltsov's partner, is participating in the Miami Open. Despite the sorrowful news, she has decided to continue competing, choosing to wear black attire for her matches as a sign of mourning and has opted not to participate in any media interviews during the event.
