In a remarkable display, the New Jersey Devils triumphed over the Winnipeg Jets with a score of 4-1 on a Thursday evening.
Jack Hughes contributed significantly with two power-play goals, alongside his brother, Luke, who assisted three times. Nico Hischier was pivotal in breaking the deadlock with the decisive goal and added two assists to his name, alongside Timo Meier’s goal into an empty net. Jake Allen secured the victory with 18 saves.
Despite a brilliant goal from Nikolaj Ehlers for the Jets, his efforts fell short against the dominating performance of New Jersey.
The game, which was knotted at 1-1, saw a decisive turn in the third period thanks to Hischier’s efforts, followed by an extension of the lead by Jack Hughes, and a victory-sealing goal from Meier. Ehlers had initially equalized the score with a remarkable solo goal.
Looking ahead, the Jets are set to play against the New York Islanders in their next match, while the Devils will be welcoming Ottawa.
