The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to extend Brendan Lemieux's contract for the 2024-25 season, signing him on for an additional year. The extension is valued at the minimum league salary of $775,000 for the 28-year-old who was originally selected in the second round of the draft.
"Brendan brings a level of grit to our squad," mentioned Don Waddell, the general manager of the Hurricanes. "We're pleased to have him stay with us in Raleigh for another year."
In the current season, Lemieux has tallied three points, including two goals and an assist, alongside 55 penalty minutes and 58 hits across 25 games. He also celebrated playing his 300th career NHL game recently. Throughout his seven-season career spanning five different teams, Lemieux has garnered 72 points, with 35 goals and 37 assists, and has amassed 539 penalty minutes.
