St. Louis Blues News & Updates

In the third period, Jaccob Slavin's key goal alongside Jake Guentzel's successful empty-net shots propelled the Carolina Hurricanes to secure a 5-2 win against the St. Louis Blues this past Friday night.

Slavin credited his goal to a pass from Sebastian Aho, highlighting the execution needed during a four-on-four situation. "Sebastian passed me the puck, and all I had to do was make contact," he commented on the play.

Carolina's Coach, Rod Brind'Amour, commended the team for their standout performances and solid goaltending, which played a crucial role in extending their winning streak to four matches. Contributions from Seth Jarvis, Jordan Martinook, and Frederik Andersen were instrumental in the victory.

For St. Louis, Jordan Kyrou and Zack Bolduc managed to get on the scoreboard, and Jordan Binnington stopped 29 shots. Drew Bannister, however, pointed out that critical errors led to the Blues conceding goals from their opponent's first three shots.

With this loss, St. Louis now trails by three points in the race for the final playoff position in the Western Conference. Nonetheless, Robert Thomas is hopeful, highlighting the team's resolve.

Guentzel's goals took his tally for the season to 30, gaining commendation from Brind'Amour. Additionally, Kyrou celebrating his 30th goal signifies his second straight season reaching this milestone, while for the first time, Robert Thomas has achieved 60 assists.

The scoring opened with Jarvis equalizing for the Hurricanes with a wrist shot after Bolduc's early goal for the Blues. Before the first period concluded, Martinook scored, giving Carolina the lead.

Looking ahead, the Hurricanes are set to face off against Chicago on Sunday, and the Blues will be hosting Seattle the same afternoon.
