Carolina Hurricanes News & Updates

In Raleigh, Martin Necas secured a power-play goal in the closing minutes, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 6-4 win over the Dallas Stars.

Shayne Gostisbehere, Brent Burns, Sebastian Aho, and Andrei Svechnikov also scored for the Hurricanes, who overcame a 4-3 disadvantage with a five-goal third period. Spencer Martin recorded 15 saves for Carolina, and Tyler Seguin, Thomas Harley, Mason Marchment, and Miro Heiskanen found the net for Dallas.

Though they trailed early, the Hurricanes answered with a short-handed goal by Seth Jarvis and mounted a comeback in the third period, with Aho's goal initiating a run that secured their victory.

The Stars, despite having a reputable penalty-kill unit, conceded two power-play goals in the third period, losing their two-goal advantage.

With injuries sidelining Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov, the Hurricanes' goalie depth has been challenged, but Martin has risen to the occasion.

The Stars will conclude their road trip in Chicago on Wednesday, while the Hurricanes are set to play host to the Rangers.
