Zach Hyman scored the decisive goal in overtime, marking his 51st goal of the season, to secure a 4-3 win for Edmonton over Winnipeg. This victory halted the Jets' losing streak at four games.
With this goal, Hyman also achieved a personal milestone of 200 career goals and continued his impressive run, scoring five goals over four games. Leon Draisaitl, Connor Brown, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played pivotal roles in bolstering Edmonton's attack.
In goal, Stuart Skinner contributed with 22 saves, helping the Oilers to snap a two-game skid of their own.
Despite facing a 3-1 disadvantage in the third period, Winnipeg mounted a comeback with Brenden Dillon and Sean Monahan finding the net. Nevertheless, it was Hyman's decisive play in overtime that clinched the win for Edmonton.
Mason Appleton and Neal Pionk were among the scorers for the Jets, who have failed to secure a win in their recent four outings, registering a 0-3-1 record.
Goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck was kept busy, making 38 saves for Winnipeg in a game that kicked off their five-game homestand to a full house.
After a goalless opening period, the second period saw Edmonton take a lead of 2-1 with rapid goals from Draisaitl and Brown.
The Oilers improved their lead to 3-1 with a power-play goal early in the third period, only for Winnipeg to level the score following quick succession goals from Dillon and Monahan.
Looking ahead, Edmonton is set to play host to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, while Winnipeg prepares to face the Vegas Golden Knights.
