New York Rangers News & Updates

Igor Shesterkin conceded five goals from 12 shots against the Buffalo Sabres and was substituted during the second period.

Starting the game with a strong track record, Shesterkin let in a goal just 26 seconds after the start, followed by four more in the second period, with three of those goals coming in a brief span of under three minutes.

Dylan Cozens, Tage Thompson, Jordan Greenway, and Sam Lafferty found the net for the Sabres before Shesterkin was replaced by Jonathan Quick.

The Sabres secured a 6-1 victory, leaving the Rangers with a season record of 8-3-1.

Jacob Trouba and Adam Fox expressed their dissatisfaction with the team's performance, noting that Shesterkin was left vulnerable to high-quality scoring chances.

Winner of the Vezina Trophy in 2022, Shesterkin is currently in the final year of his contract and is aiming to become the highest-paid goaltender in the NHL.
