Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

The season for the Vegas Golden Knights concluded in the initial round of the playoffs, and the disappointment was compounded by injuries, as coach Bruce Cassidy disclosed that nine players from the team had to undergo surgical procedures throughout the season.

Even with injuries plaguing the roster, the Golden Knights welcomed back 20 members from their former championship squad. Nonetheless, the overall health of the team and the effectiveness of new players acquired at the trade deadline remained uncertain.

After securing victories in the first two matchups against Dallas, the Golden Knights faced three consecutive losses, yet they managed to take the series to a decisive seventh game. Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo admitted the team struggled to counteract the strategic changes made by the Dallas Stars.

Throughout the season, injury reports indicate a significant loss of game time for Golden Knights players, with Shea Theodore and Mark Stone sitting out for substantial stretches, and Adin Hill experiencing multiple injuries.

Cassidy pointed out that the recurring injuries made it difficult for the team to build a consistent and cohesive unit. Before joining the Golden Knights, Tomas Hertl was out for 28 games of the regular season recovering from a knee surgery.

Team captain Mark Stone, who had undergone back surgeries the previous season, commended the team's persistent effort. Despite facing numerous hurdles, the Golden Knights managed to secure a spot in the playoffs and pushed the series against the conference leaders to a seventh game before bowing out.
