Winnipeg Jets News & Updates

Winnipeg players Vladislav Namestnikov and Brenden Dillon will be sidelined for Game 5 against Colorado. Namestnikov is dealing with a fractured cheekbone, while Dillon has a laceration.

The incident leading to Namestnikov's injury occurred during Game 4, where he was hit by a puck that ricocheted off another player. Meanwhile, Dillon's injury resulted from an altercation following the same game. The Jets are currently facing a 3-1 deficit in the series.

Following his injury, Namestnikov dealt with nausea and a decreased appetite. On the other hand, Dillon's injury will keep him out of the lineup for a few days.

In light of Namestnikov's absence, Cole Perfetti will take to the ice for his first playoff game. Perfetti has voiced his concern for his injured teammate and recalled the eerie quiet in the arena when the incident happened.

The injury to Namestnikov happened as he tried to dodge a shot from his teammate Nate Schmidt, which then deflected off a stick and struck him.

However, according to Perfetti, Namestnikov appeared to be in fairly good spirits following a medical review, which was encouraging news for the team.
