Chicago Blackhawks News & Updates

On a recent Friday, the Chicago Blackhawks engaged in a trade agreement with the New York Islanders, enhancing their position in both the first and second rounds of the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft.

In this trade, the Blackhawks secured the 18th and 50th picks overall from the Islanders. In exchange, the Islanders were granted the 20th, 54th, and 61st overall selections.

The trading move is part of Chicago's broader strategy to rebuild its team. Having accumulated three picks in the second round of this year's draft, the Blackhawks continue to focus on bolstering their roster through careful selection and recruitment. This strategy included the prominent acquisition of Connor Bedard as the top pick in the previous year's draft.

The draft event for 2024 is scheduled to commence on June 28 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the subsequent rounds taking place on June 29.
