New York Islanders forward Anthony Duclair is dealing with a lower-body injury expected to be long-term. General manager Lou Lamoriello shared this update on Monday and more information is anticipated following Tuesday's testing.
The injury to Duclair, who is 29 years old, occurred during Saturday's victory over the Montreal Canadiens. He was moving toward the Canadiens' net when he experienced pain and fell, despite minimal contact. He needed assistance to leave the ice.
In the offseason, Duclair agreed to a four-year contract with the Islanders valued at $14 million. During his career, he has been part of nine teams over 11 seasons.
The Quebec native has contributed three points, consisting of two goals and one assist, in five games this season.
Throughout his career, Duclair has accumulated a total of 306 points, including 148 goals and 158 assists, in 568 games played.
