The New York Islanders have moved forward Mathew Barzal onto the long-term injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. Defenseman Adam Pelech has also been placed on injured reserve for the same reason.

Adam Pelech, aged 30, sustained a facial injury during the Islanders' victory against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. So far this season, he has earned four assists in 11 games.

The Islanders have called up defensemen Samuel Bolduc and Grant Hutton from their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. At 23, Bolduc has netted one goal and four assists across nine games, while Hutton, who is 29, has contributed two assists within the same period.
