Jack Edwards, a highly esteemed announcer known for his play-by-play commentary for the Boston Bruins, has announced his retirement after spending 19 successful seasons with the squad.
At 67 years old, Edwards noticed a decline in the speed of his speech, leading him to pursue therapy. Nevertheless, he plans to remain in the commentator's booth for the Bruins' games until the playoffs conclude.
Before his tenure with the Bruins starting in 2005, Edwards had a longstanding career with ESPN that spanned more than ten years. Reflecting on his career, Edwards has referred to his role with the Bruins as the pinnacle of his dreams and feels fortunate to culminate his 45 years in broadcasting with the team.
Edwards credits his remarkable career to the unwavering support from his family and the dedication of the Bruins and NESN, showing immense appreciation for the chance to achieve his dream career in the world of hockey.
Before his time with ESPN beginning in 1991, Edwards built his broadcasting experience working with television stations across Rhode Island and Boston.
