Jack Hughes Scores Overtime Winner, Leading Devils to 4-3 Comeback Victory Over Islanders

Jack Hughes delivered the decisive goal just two minutes and thirty-five seconds into overtime, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 4-3 triumph over the New York Islanders on Saturday.

New Jersey also saw goals from Dawson Mercer and Stefan Noesen as they achieved their third consecutive win. Jacob Markstrom contributed with 19 saves for the team.

On the New York side, Simon Holmstrom, Dennis Cholowski, and Brock Nelson managed to score, while Ilya Sorokin made 29 saves. This game ended their two-game winning streak.

During the overtime period, Hughes capitalized on Ryan Pulock's broken stick, receiving an outlet pass from Dougie Hamilton which set up a breakaway and the winning goal.

Although he didn't score, 21-year-old Luke Hughes has shown significant defensive advancements under Brett Pesce's mentorship.
