Seth Jarvis led the Carolina Hurricanes to a solid 4-1 win against the New York Islanders by netting two goals on Tuesday evening.
In the match, Jake Guentzel, who recently joined Carolina, notched up three points, and Pyotr Kochetkov successfully blocked 30 shots.
Additional offensive support was provided by Martini Necas and Brady Skjei for the Hurricanes.
Kyle Palmieri managed to put one on the board for the Islanders, who are on a five-game losing streak.
A crucial power-play goal by Necas towards the end of the first period expanded the Hurricanes' lead to three goals, a margin the Islanders couldn't overcome.
Brent Burns matched the seventh longest consecutive game streak in NHL history at 830 games.
Up next, the Hurricanes will play host to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, and the Islanders are set to face the Detroit Red Wings.
