At the Bruins' home opener, Jeremy Swayman received an enthusiastic reception from the fans, even though he had been holding out on a contract.
Swayman made 21 saves to help the Bruins secure a 6-4 win against the Montreal Canadiens. After the game, he was moved by the crowd's support and appreciated the bond shared with the supporters.

With his eight-year contract averaging $8.25 million annually, Swayman ranks among the top five NHL goalies by average salary. He appeared in his first game following just a single practice session.
Bruins coach Jim Montgomery was pleased with Swayman's effort, despite some defensive errors leading to goals against.
