In the first round of the NHL playoffs, Wyatt Johnston scored for the third time in two matches, helping the Dallas Stars even out the series against the reigning champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, with a 4-2 victory on Monday evening.

Additional goals for the Stars were contributed by Evgenii Dadonov, Ty Dellandrea, and Roope Hintz, while goaltender Jake Oettinger made 33 saves.

On the side of the Golden Knights, goals were made by Michael Amadio and Jack Eichel, with Eichel extending his goal streak to three consecutive games. Goalie Logan Thompson made 28 saves in the effort.

The series moves back to Dallas for Game 5 on Wednesday, with history showing that the visiting team has taken the win in every match of the series thus far.

After finding themselves behind 2-1, the Stars went on to claim a 3-2 lead in the second period. During this time, Johnston netted a goal during a power play, and Dellandrea found the back of the net following a rebound with just 1:26 remaining.

In the final period, Dallas focused on a defensive strategy, limiting the Golden Knights' scoring opportunities and challenging them with difficult shots. An empty-net goal from Hintz solidified the Stars' victory.

Stars' captain Jamie Benn marked a new franchise record by appearing in his 87th playoff game, the highest in the team's history.
