Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault remains without a new contract, even though he still has one year left on his current deal.
Marchessault has stated his wish to stay with the team, but he understands that the organization might decide to move in a different direction.
The Golden Knights are known for swiftly replacing players, evidenced by their moves with Marc-Andre Fleury and their recent acquisitions of Tomas Hertl and Noah Hanifin.
Marchessault played a pivotal role in leading Vegas to their inaugural Stanley Cup championship in 2021 and has been a significant factor in the team's achievements.
He thinks that Dallas, guided by former Golden Knights coach Pete DeBoer, is in a strong position to compete for the championship this season.
Marchessault has also expressed his respect for Dallas' coaching staff and roster, with a particular admiration for Joe Pavelski.
