Kaiden Guhle, a defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, has been suspended for one game without salary for engaging in a slashing event against Travis Konecny, a forward for the Philadelphia Flyers, in their recent game on Thursday.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Guhle will lose $4,496.53 from his average annual earnings, with the amount being contributed to the emergency assistance fund for NHL players.

The slash by Guhle occurred in the second period of the game from the bench. He extended his stick over the boards, making contact with Konecny's chest while Konecny was playing on the ice.
