Kaiden Guhle, a defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, has agreed to a six-year contract extension valued at $33.3 million, set to begin in the 2025-26 season.
Guhle's new deal makes him the third defenseman to commit to the Canadiens in the last two days. This follows the recent signings of Arber Xhekaj, who agreed to a two-year contract worth $2.6 million, and Justin Barron, who also signed for two years at $2.3 million.
At 22 years old, Guhle registered 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists) alongside 178 blocked shots, 116 hits, and 56 penalty minutes over 70 games last season. Since being drafted by Montreal in the 2020 NHL Draft, he has accumulated a total of 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 114 career games.
