Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy were instrumental in driving the Minnesota Wild to a 3-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings, effectively halting the Kings' streak of eight consecutive home wins.
Ryan Hartman found the net as well for the Wild, who reversed their recent run of heavy defeats to the Kings. In goal, Filip Gustavsson contributed with 23 saves for the Wild.
The Kings saw a solitary goal from Blake Lizotte, which came amidst a setback in their previously strong hold of third place in the Pacific Division. Their goaltender, Cam Talbot, conceded three goals from 29 shots faced.
The opening goal by Boldy came during a power play in the initial period. Later, Kaprizov set up Hartman's goal towards the end of the second period, before netting his 45th goal of the season in the third period. The Kings' performance, deemed sluggish by Anderson, mirrored a previous dip in form experienced in January.
Next, the Wild are set to play the Seattle Kraken at home on Thursday, the same day the Kings are scheduled to face the Chicago Blackhawks at their home.
