Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

Filip Gustavsson achieved his third shutout for the season as Kirill Kaprizov increased his point streak to eight matches by netting his 150th goal in the NHL. The Minnesota Wild emerged victorious with a 4-0 win against the Anaheim Ducks, marking their second win against them within a span of six days.

Gustavsson performed impressively, blocking 27 shots to earn his sixth overall career shutout. The victory was further bolstered by Ryan Hartman, who scored a goal and assisted another, along with goals from Jon Merrill and Jacob Lucchini. Gustavsson highlighted their strong performance in controlling the game within the Ducks’ zone.

The Wild have been on a winning trajectory, claiming victory in four out of their last five matches and securing points in their last eight, showcasing a strong performance of 6-0-2. They are currently just three points behind the Golden Knights for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Despite John Gibson making 28 saves for the Ducks, the team faced its seventh straight loss and was shut out for the third time in their last four games, which includes a 2-0 defeat by the Wild on March 14. This season marks a dubious record for the Ducks, having two separate losing streaks of seven or more games for the first time in their 30-year history.

The Wild initiated a lead with two goals in the early minutes of the second period before Kaprizov widened the gap with a power-play goal, his fifth in as many games, pushing his point streak to 10 goals and 14 points over the sequence.

The adjustments in the lineup by Coach John Hynes proved fruitful, kickstarting with Hartman's goal 35 seconds into the second period. Merrill then swiftly added another score, with Lucchini clinching the win with a third-period goal.
