Keegan Kolesar's Double Scores Propel Vegas Golden Knights to 5-0 Victory Against Calgary Flames

Keegan Kolesar contributed significantly with two goals and an assist, helping the Vegas Golden Knights achieve a 5-0 victory over the Calgary Flames on Monday. This win marked the conclusion of Vegas's successful 4-0 homestand, during which they outscored their opponents 24-8. Kolesar celebrated his first game with more than one goal.

Additional goals for Vegas came from Alex Pietrangelo, Mark Stone, and Nic Roy, while Adin Hill achieved their first shutout of the season by making 16 saves. On the other side, Dan Vladar managed to stop 31 shots for Calgary.

The Flames encountered difficulties in faceoffs, securing wins in only 42.1% of them. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights' leading line of Stone, Jack Eichel, and Ivan Barbashev has been productive, scoring 13 5-on-5 goals, which is the highest in the NHL.

A pivotal play saw Eichel intercept a pass and aid Stone in scoring, increasing the lead to 2-0. Mikael Backlund of Calgary marked a significant milestone by playing his 999th NHL game.

Next up for the Flames is a trip to Utah on Wednesday, while the Golden Knights are set to compete against the Kings in Los Angeles.
