The general manager of the Los Angeles Kings, Rob Blake, has made it clear that Pierre-Luc Dubois will not be facing a contract buyout.
Previously, Dubois was obtained by the Kings from the Winnipeg Jets in a deal that saw Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, Gabriel Vilardi, and a second-round draft pick going the other way. This trade was made last June to bring the 25-year-old center to the team.
Following the trade, Dubois experienced a challenging season with the Kings, producing 40 points over 82 games and facing difficulties in the playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers.
Despite rumors of a possible buyout due to his underwhelming performance, Blake has emphasized the organization's dedication to assisting Dubois in enhancing his game.
Dubois has acknowledged his lackluster performance and is committed to delivering a significantly improved season moving forward.
He has opened up about the difficulties he encountered while adjusting from the playing system of the Jets to that of the Kings and adapting to a diminished role on the team.
Nonetheless, Dubois is staying optimistic about his skill set and is motivated to demonstrate his value to the Kings in the future.
