Drew Doughty, the standout defenseman for the Los Angeles Kings, underwent surgery on his fractured left ankle and is expected to be sidelined for several months.
The injury occurred when Doughty collided with an opponent during a pre-season victory against the Vegas Golden Knights. As the current Norris Trophy holder, he has been instrumental in securing two Stanley Cup championships for the Kings.
At 34 years old, Doughty continues to excel on the ice. He clocked the most minutes per game in the league last season and remains a reliable scorer. Throughout his career, he has amassed 669 points over 1,177 games.
