Kirill Kaprizov's remarkable performance, with two goals and one assist, helped the Minnesota Wild secure a 5-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday in Anaheim.
Minnesota also saw goals from Jake Middleton, Marcus Foligno, and Marco Rossi, while Anaheim's goals came from Robby Fabbri and Mason McTavish. Filip Gustavsson made 32 saves for the Wild, and Lukas Dostal stopped 25 shots for the Ducks.
Kaprizov's outstanding game elevated him above Nathan MacKinnon for the lead in NHL scoring, with a total of 27 points. The Wild's strong road performance has brought their record to 7-1-1, which is the best in the league.
The Ducks are struggling with three consecutive losses, being outscored 14-5 during this streak. Although Anaheim outshot Minnesota 34-30, they found it difficult to create effective scoring opportunities.
A quick scoring burst from Middleton, Foligno, and Kaprizov within the opening six minutes gave the Wild an early advantage. Over their past 21 road games, the Wild have averaged more than four goals per game.
Looking ahead, the Wild will conclude their road trip with a game in Chicago on Sunday, while the Ducks are set to play Columbus at home.
