Kirill Marchenko, a 24-year-old restricted free agent, has secured a three-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets valued at $11.55 million. This agreement will extend through the 2026-27 season.
In the previous season, Marchenko amassed 42 points, including 23 goals and 19 assists, over 78 games while finishing the final year of his entry-level contract.
Don Waddell, the general manager of the Blue Jackets, mentioned that re-signing Marchenko was a priority due to his pivotal role in his first two NHL seasons. He highlighted Marchenko's size, skill, and goal-scoring prowess as significant contributions to the team's core.
Marchenko, who was selected by Columbus in the second round of the 2018 NHL draft, has recorded a total of 67 points, including 44 goals and 23 assists, across 137 career games.
