Pyotr Kochetkov celebrated his season's fourth shutout by making 26 saves, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-0 victory against the Montreal Canadiens.

The scoreboard lit up in the second period thanks to Jordan Staal's effort, marking a short-handed goal for Carolina. The lead was extended in the third period by Sebastian Aho with a goal on the power play, and Seth Jarvis capped off the win with a goal into an empty net.

This triumph updates Carolina's record to 47-21-7. On the other hand, Montreal, coming off a streak of three wins, dropped to 28-33-12.

For the Canadiens, Sam Montembeault stopped 27 shots. The team continues to struggle with defense, allowing a league-high of 12 short-handed goals this season.

Up next, the Hurricanes will play at home against the Boston Bruins on Thursday, and the Canadiens are set to host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
