San Jose Sharks News & Updates

Oliver Bjorkstrand notched his 20th goal and added an assist, propelling the Seattle Kraken to a 4-2 triumph against the San Jose Sharks. Contributions also came from Jared McCann, Matty Beniers, and Shane Wright, who all hit the back of the net. Meanwhile, Jordan Eberle reached his 700th point in the NHL with an assist on one of the goals. Goalie Philipp Grubauer contributed to the win with 24 saves.

The Kraken's head coach, Dave Hakstol, commended the entire team's effort in the victory, whereas the Sharks' coach, David Quinn, expressed disappointment over his team's failure to play aggressively.

For the Sharks, Fabian Zetterlund both scored and provided an assist. Klim Kostin and Mikael Granlund were also on the scoresheet. Despite Mackenzie Blackwood's 28 saves, the Sharks faced their 19th defeat in the last 21 games.

The match kicked off with Beniers finding the net merely 29 seconds in, followed by Bjorkstrand's goal doubling their lead. Zetterlund managed to put the Sharks on the board with a power-play goal. However, a goal by Wright, marking his first of the season, extended the Kraken's lead again. Kostin managed to close the gap for the Sharks, but an empty-net goal from McCann assured the Kraken's win. Notably, Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn made his comeback after missing 12 games due to an injury.

Looking ahead, the Kraken are set to face Los Angeles on Wednesday, whereas the Sharks will welcome Los Angeles the following day.
